GRABILL GALLERY FEATURED ART SCHEDULE FOR 2014 APRIL 12th 2014 opening Jennifer Whitelow Bio: Jennifer (Carroll) Whitelow was born an Artist in Fort Wayne in 1976. She has been drawing, painting, collaging, and crafting since she can remember. Jennifer also has been creating greeting and notecards for friends and family for most of her life- even winning a city-wide prize for a Valentine in grade school. Jennifer has had some local training in college drawing and design classes. Although informative and interesting, Jennifer decided whatever more she needed to learn could be from peers, community, and Nichiren Buddhist inspiration to provide valuable experiences. Jennifer includes personal dream imagery, chakra/energy visualizations, and metaphysical symbolism in all her work- relying on Soul to Heart to Mind to Hand connection when creating her Life and the Artwork. Jennifer hopes that you will make your own personal connections to the Artwork and allow it to resonate within you. 1 photo 1/work included _____________________________________ May 24th 2014 opening Terri Cummins Terri Cummins is a wife, mother of four, and grandmother of two. She enjoys taking photographs of her family and friends, animals and nature. Terri lives east of Harlan, which provides her with many opportunities to photograph the beauty of the northeastern Indiana countryside. 1 photo/ 1 work included _______________________________________ July 5th 2014 opening Holly Heath HOLLY HEATH Holly Heath Photography 14435-B Leo Road. Leo, Indiana 46765 260.627.8600. HYPERLINK "mailto:HHMagnolia@aol.com" HHMagnolia@aol.com. Hollyheath.com As far back as she can remember, Holly wanted to be, and was encouraged to be, anything she wanted. As a child she wanted to be a nurse, doctor, teacher, spy, and mother. As a young adult, she wanted to be a Solid Gold Dancer, a lawyer, Olympian, a country singer, soldier, and a chef. Holly also wanted to be a photographer. Holly couldn’t wait for her mom to get home from picking up the pictures at the local photo lab. She was always more interested in the negatives than the pictures. She would sit and compare negative to picture for hours. Wondering why and figuring out how all the odd colors in the negative would produce a picture that was color perfect and so true to life. Today, as a photographer Holly understands the technical process of developing a negative into an image. However, it takes her artistic talents to express the idea or feeling into a powerful image. What she strives to convey to the viewer is a sense of time…a time for everything…whether that time, that moment, is old, overgrown, dilapidated, fragile, or new. Holly Heath, a native to Indiana, studied Fine Art Photography under the tutelage of Stephen Perfect and Rick Papazian at Indiana University. Holly graduated in 2003, receiving top honors in Photography at the senior exhibition. Holly has exhibited her Fine Art Photography at Artlink, The Fort Wayne Museum of Art, The Honeywell Center, and the Allen County Public Library. Currently her work can be seen at Village Bookstores in Fort Wayne and Auburn, Indiana , the Jonquil Gallery in Knox, Indiana, and Urban Chic Designs located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In 2002 she decided to open her own fine art photography studio. Holly enjoys the freedom it brings her. She is able to explore new images and experiment with vintage, current, and novel techniques. 1 photo / 1 work included ____________________________ August 16th Opening James Schwartz “Since 2002, James Schwartz's passion for travel and love of photography have taken him to places around the world including Australia, New Zealand, Chicago, China, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, and western USA to capture award-winning photos.” each one is a treasure and uniquely captured. James studies Electrical Engineering & Information Technology at IPFW, and manages his growing photography business in Fort Wayne. He is also a regular featured artist at the Grabill Gallery during the Grabill Country Fair. 2 photos 1/portrait 1/work included _____________________________ September 27th Opening Ajna Wagenfeld Ajna studies photography at IPFW and has interned with several local Photographers. She has an eye for capturing the world around her in a special way! 1 photo/ 1 work included ______________________________ November 1st Opening Kathy Weidener I started private art lessons when I was about twelve years old. I went almost every Saturday for six years also taking art classes in high school until graduating. During this six year period I mostly worked on portraits in charcoal or pastels. I loved it! I was awarded a scholarship to IPFW and went for a short time. It's funny looking back now my work was mostly in black and white. Now I love color and incorporate it in my drawings and paintings. Since those early years, I have also picked up colored pencil and acrylic paints. I credit God, my inherited talent and my parents for paying for all those lessons.
